Position Profile

As a Junior Technical Writer, you will be working closely with the Director of Projects and Strategic Initiatives to develop extensive documentation that meets organizational standards. We’re searching for a Junior Technical Writer to join our team and help take our department procedures to new heights. As an ideal candidate, you have proven experience in a highly practical field, such as Project Management, English, Writing, or Communications. Your ability to evaluate and analyze complex information is unparalleled, and you have a desire to help people understand topics that are hard to understand.

What You Will Do at GFD

  • Create process manuals and other documents needed to understand how to complete a process or workflow.
  • Edit documentation for clarity without changing key information. 
  • Write, modify, edit, and publish articles in a language that can be understood by ordinary people
  • Interview professionals and subject matter experts to gain a deeper understanding of the topic being written about.
  • Collaborate with technical team to produce and maintain documentation, including but not limited to, user guides, integration guides, and technical client meeting minutes.
  • Combine and continuously create process manuals in order to create a Repository of Knowledge.

Your Experience

  • Strong communicator, outstanding verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate exceptional ability to observe technical processes and convert the information in a concise, effective way to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to grasp new concepts in a fast turnaround time
  • Good attention to detail
  • Enhanced problem-solving skills

Your Technical skills

  • Expert in MS Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio).

Your Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a focus on project Management, English, Writing, or Communications.
  • Project Management skills is an asset.
