As our Business Development (BD) Manager, you will deliver on our Sales strategy in expanding the business by generating leads and sales, maintaining client relationships, and coordinating promotional activities.

Working with existing and new clients across North America, you hold a vital role in our expansion and growth. You will have short term and long-term goals to develop and diversify business growth in our Face to Face (F2F), Outbound, and emerging lines of businesses.

Working closely with the Sr. Director, Business Development, you will dive right into F2F and outbound lead generation; cross selling and prospecting by levering existing client relationships as well as building new ones.

What You Will Do at GFD

Your overarching areas of accountability will include:

  • Building and executing on a business development strategy for the Company – pipeline to close.
  • Think strategically – seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business.
  • Work strategically – carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes.
  • Leveraging relationships with existing clients in pursuit of new business and revenue streams.
  • Increasing client base.
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition for prospecting.
  • Writing business proposals and negotiating with stakeholders.
  • Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs and presenting GFD solutions to build deeper partnerships.
  • Researching business opportunities and viable revenue streams; following industry trends locally and internationally.
  • Liaise with internal departments as appropriate, such as finance , customer success and marketing to discuss promotional and operational strategy.
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts and reporting on successes and areas needing improvements.
  • Attend conferences and networking events on an ad hoc basis throughout North America.

What You Bring to GFD

Your Experience

  • A business development professional with 4+ years of demonstrated experience successfully increasing topline revenue and acquiring new business.
  • Industry experience preferred (Not-for-profit, Agency and/or Vendor side)

Your Skills, Competencies, Knowledge & Abilities

Your Technical skills

  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, and Canva.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies and applications swiftly

Your Education

  • Diploma/Degree specialization in Business or a related field highly valued.
  • Solid understanding of sales principles and techniques
