Position Profile

Driving GFDs financial health and business strategy, you analyse business trends and results to advise on our performance and explore potential growth scenarios. Through careful budgeting, forecasting and analytical processes, you provide insights to the Senior Leadership team to build strategic plans and review investments.

What You Will Do at GFD

  • Create and continue to develop/enhance rolling monthly revenue forecasts, ensuring integrity of all inputs (rates/assets)
  • Coordinate with other members of the Finance department to assist with the development and consolidation of expense forecasts
  • Creation and maintenance of various forecast templates for consolidation of results
  • Assist in creation of a quarterly rolling forecast reporting package and related analysis
  • Assist with ongoing maintenance and development of department P&L statement (1-year period)
  • Analysis of various P&L line items to identify associated impact of short-term balance sheet accounts, specifically cash impact
  • Build out efficiencies in existing forecasting processes and systems
  • Accounting tasks include: management of AP making appropriate month end entries, performing reconciliations and invoicing.
  • Participate in special projects and other ad hoc analysis as required

What You Bring to GFD

Your Experience

  • 3-5 years of previous work experience as part of an organisational Finance department or professional Accounting firm – with demonstrated experience in financial analysis, reporting, budgeting and business planning.
  • Work experience in the following sectors – Financial Services, Not for Profit or Fundraising – is preferred, but not required
  • Completion of valid Canadian financial/accounting designation (CPA CA, CMA, CGA)
  • Demonstrated knowledge with Canadian tax codes, laws and accounting regulations

  • Flexible; with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Attentive to detail, with a palpable sense of urgency & drive to deliver quality outcomes
  • A critical thinker with a knack for creative problem solving and continuous process improvement
  • Able to interpret & analyse complex sets of data (both quantitative & qualitative) and generate actionable insights for the business
  • A person of integrity, with the utmost respect for compliance & quality standards

Your Technical skills

  • Demonstrated experience with ADP Workforce Now (required)
  • Demonstrated experience with QuickBooks (required)
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (required)
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office and Google G-Suite programs (required)
  • Experience with Tableau and PowerBI (preferred but not required)

Your Education

  • University education via Bachelor’s Degree, with a focus in Business Management, Commerce, Accounting, Economics or Finance.
  • -OR-
  • Combination of College-level education in Business Management, Commerce, Accounting, Economics or Finance and 1-2 years of additional relevant
