Meet the Globalfaces Direct Head Office Team: KaylaJuly 17, 2015
Our team is the big force behind transparent fundraising processes, insight-generating donor software and the most effective face-to-face fundraising program. We feel it’s time you get to know our team.
Meet Kayla, known for the highly organized ways in which she takes care of our non-profit charity clients. She works in a busy but well-organized cubical with tons of Post-It notes and charts that keep her focused on your charity’s unique objectives and timelines. She uses every pen and marker colour in the rainbow to make sure your project is always neat and tidy. Speaking of neat and tidy, she’s the one we go to for hand sanitizer and moisturizer (She makes sure that our hands-on approach is never too dry or cracked. What? I’m sorry, I can’t help it.). She also has amazing hair…
“I got married two months ago, but I haven’t changed my last name yet. It’s Kayla Foremsky now. I’m also known as Kayla Fabulous Dramatic Hair Flip.”
What do you do at Globalfaces Direct?
“I’ve been the Client Services/Relationship Manager at Globalfaces Direct for two and a half years now. In a nutshell, my job and main priority is to keep our incredible clients as happy and satisfied as humanly possible. This includes but is not limited to interacting with team managers, fundraisers, and company officers. I cross Ts, dot Is and connect the dots to help everything run smoothly.”
Why do you do what you do?
“Because I love it. Plain and simple. My client relations career with Globalfaces Direct has been a blessing of which I am extremely grateful.”
What brought you to Globalfaces Direct?
“I was looking for work three years ago, and so I put my résumé on a job search website. Globalfaces Direct found me, brought me in for chat and the rest is history.”
What’s one campaign that stands out for you? Why?
“CANFAR’s 2013/2014 face-to-face fundraising campaign with Globalfaces Direct stands out for me. CANFAR is a Canada-based nonprofit charity. It is the only privately funded, national charity dedicated solely to advancing research in the area of HIV/AIDS. They had a small donor base that we helped grow considerably during our test with them, and they were so grateful for our help. It was an incredible experience for me because it showed me just how powerful face-to-face fundraising can be for smaller nonprofit charities. BTW: I am still a proud CANFAR donor to this day.”
What inspires you?
“Here at Globalfaces Direct, I love to witness first-hand the results of the work that we do. We get to watch how more longterm monthly donations help people in the world who need it the most, and it’s one of the most gratifying feelings I’ve ever felt. At home, my relationship with God, my husband and my family give me strength and love and hope for a brighter future for all human beings.”
How do you motivate others?
“I strive to see the good in everyone and love encouraging people to be the best versions of themselves. I’ve gone through some incredibly hard times in my life and these experiences have made me a stronger, more compassionate person. If I can use my experiences to help even one person, it was all worth it.”
Describe the change you hope to see in the world.
“Youth must ease up on each other. I want bullying, stereotyping, judgement, abuse and discrimination to stop in schools. Kids are impressionable, and that stuff affects them for the rest of their lives. I’d love to see barriers broken down and everyone working together as one support system instead of tearing each other down all the time.”
How are you going to help?
“I’m a sensitive soul with a thick skin, and I want to give back. If it’s something I’m passionate about, I’m all-in. I will help wherever the need is and do everything in my power to achieve the goal.”
How can we help you do this?
“I think too often as adults we get caught up in the same petty nonsense that used to occupy us as kids. We gossip, judge, make fun of others, lie, etc. How do we expect the next generation to be better when we don’t better ourselves? We all need to make a conscious effort to be good examples, display greater integrity, and lead the pack in terms of how we treat others and how we live our lives.”
What makes you laugh?
“My younger brother, Blake. He’s literally the funniest person I’ve ever met in my life. Blake has made me keel over laughing more than anyone or anything. He will move to Beijing next month to teach English, and I will miss him.”
