It’s Official — F2F Fundraising Relaunches With The CNIB Foundation

Category: Announcements

After 2 long months in full lockdown, GFD is proud to announce that F2F activity in Canada is live again, alongside our amazing charity partner, the CNIB Foundation.

We relaunched D2D canvassing on Tuesday, May 19 in Manitoba. The results are exactly what we expected. Canadians are just as supportive as ever!

  • Each fundraiser has been able to knock on approximately 100 doors per day, in line with our pre-COVID benchmark. We are currently knocking on over 2,000 doors per day.
  • 65-70% of doors knocked are opening. This is a significant increase over the 55% pre-COVID benchmark. Donors are home, and they are eager to chat!
  • Production sits at nearly 2.00 net donors acquired per day, per fundraiser. Another big improvement over our pre-COVID 1.20 benchmark.

In these first 2 weeks back, interactions with our fellow Canadians are, as expected, fantastic. In fact, many donors commented on how happy they were to see fundraisers out in their communities again and appreciated the measures we’ve taken to maintain physical distancing.

GFD conducted telephone surveying across Canada both leading up to and during the relaunch of F2F fundraising on May 19.

More than 70% of respondents stated that they would be comfortable opening their door for an individual representing a charity, as long as a 6ft/2m distance was maintained at all times. This feedback, along with the overwhelmingly positive results in Manitoba, has led GFD and the CNIB Foundation to plan a second team launch, slated for June 8 in Saskatchewan. A number of eager fundraisers from Ontario, Alberta and BC are temporarily moving to Manitoba and Saskatchewan to get a head start on canvassing before their respective provinces reopen for canvassing.

As we continue to redeploy with our great charity partners across Canada, we strive to be diligent to ensure that both fundraisers and potential donors are comfortable during every interaction. The CNIB launch in Manitoba is a major step in the right direction, and we believe that it provides a light at the end of the tunnel for all of us looking forward to F2F fundraising in North America.
