Globalfaces Direct Helps The Hospital for Sick Children Form New B2B Fundraising Partnerships Throughout Toronto, Ontario

When a child is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, their entire life is put on pause. Laughing and playing with their family and friends, paused. Birthday parties, paused. Creating holiday memories, paused. Last year The Hospital for Sick Children, often known as SickKids, met with more than 40 patients and their families whose lives had been paused by an illness. This year the not-for-profit charity wants to share their stories of triumph and hope, and Globalfaces Direct wants to help SickKids share these stories in ways that encourage longterm support from new businesses partnerships.

SickKids  is a world-renown children’s hospital on University Avenue in the Discover District of Toronto. It’s serves as a teaching hospital, affiliated with the University of Toronto. It’s the world’s second-largest hospital-based paediatric research facility. SickKids has been saving young lives since 1875.

Medical treatments at SickKids are often funded by Canadian health insurance, yet philanthropy is a vital source of funding that impacts infrastructure and support for physicians, researchers and scientists. Financial support from individual donors and business partnerships also helps The Foundation maintains the Herbie Fund for patients not covered by Canadian health insurance. The fund was established in 1979 to provide for the treatment of Herbie Quiñones, a seven-month-old patient from Brooklyn, New York. Philanthropy accounted for $72.1 million of critical funding, last year.
